Tim Blakeley has boots-on-the-ground experience with what it takes to stay safe and survive violent times. With a long career in law enforcement and an expert in firearms and tactical training, his expertise has reached thousands through his many articles in publications such as Combat Handguns, The Law Enforcement Trainer, The Police Chief, and The Firearms Instructor.
In addition, Tim has received training in physical and electronic surveillance, special weapons and tactics, high-risk apprehensions, active killers, and counterterrorism.
I guess it's no surprise then that he was asked to help rebuild Afghanistan's national police force, working as a police adviser and trainer for 18 months mostly in the Helmand Province located in the southern area of the country.
This was dangerous work (Tim survived a suicide attack in 2008 while while moving on foot in the Gereshk district) and he later traveled to Israel and received antiterrorism combat training as well as high-risk motorcade training in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Tim is the author of "Shooting to Survive: How to Fight with a Pistol", an authoritative resource on self-protection with a pistol and contains practical methods of operational survival that are equally suited for males and females in the United States and internationally.
Tim's firearms expertise is vast and he has multiple firearms and self-defense instructor certifications from the North Carolina Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, and the National Rifle Association.
He completed Glock's courses for Advance Armorer, Instructors Workshop, and Glock 18 (18C) Select-Fire Familiarization Workshop.
Today, Tim's North Carolina company, PoliceTech, provides firearms training to civilians, police officers, and military operators.
