It was a well-planned attack…
While driving through Baltimore City, MD, former CIA agent Jason Hanson, took a turn down a narrow street in an urban area.
Suddenly, a guy came out of hiding, ran up to his car, and tried to open the driver’s side door.
Jason immediately looked at him and accelerated… only to see a woman standing in front of the car, trying to block him in.
Swerving around the woman, he looked in his rearview mirror as he sped away and saw about 10 people rushing into the street, chasing after his car.
That kind of scenario is EXACTLY why Jason now helps people learn to defend against carjackings.
Here Are 3 Urban Counter-Ambush
Survival Tactics Against A Carjacking…
Carjacking is the fastest growing and potentially the most dangerous of crimes trending today because according to police reports…
- 54% of carjacking’s are by 2 or more attackers
- 77% of the time a weapon is used
- The majority of the time the weapon used is a gun
Perhaps more importantly, carjackings are PLANNED AMBUSHES — meaning the criminals already have their attack in motion before you even know you’re in danger!
Jason’s escape & evasion training provides several “secret” CIA defense tactics for threats like these.
Some of the most obvious things you can do are to always keep your doors locked and your windows rolled up when in “high threat” areas.
Everyone knows that, right?
But here are 3 little-known tricks Jason’s course offers that you can use right away to give yourself the best chance for surviving a carjacking ambush…
1. The “10 Degree” Trick
Most people don’t make full use of their side mirrors.
If you can see the sides of the car, your mirrors aren’t positioned out far enough.
(Position your side mirrors about 10 degrees further out than normal so you can’t see the sides of the car anymore.)
Carjackers know your “blindspots” and how to attack from the rear without you seeing them — so this helps foil that line of attack.
Use your rearview mirror for seeing directly behind, but your side mirrors for seeing further away from your vehicle.
2. Control Your Escape Route
When at a red light, make sure you can see the tires of the car in front of you.
If you can’t see them, you’re too close and likely boxed in.
If you can see the tires, though, you have enough room to go left or right (if there is no other traffic in the way).
That way, if someone tries to break out your window, you can floor it and you have somewhere to go.
3. The “PSI” Trick
Inflate your tires with 10% less air than P.S.I. listed on the sidewall.
This will give you more traction on the road for evasive driving should your carjackers pursue you and you need to escape.
It’s also an old-school trick for dealing with slick road conditions.
If your car is bogged down and needs more traction, deflating the tires a little can help increase your ability to drive through the mess.
So there you have it: 3 great tips from one of the masters of the “spy game.”
As far as I’m concerned, they’re the just the kind of “secret agent info” we need to gain an unfair advantage over the scumbag criminals targeting us as victims.
This is just the beginning, though.
Start planning to defend yourself NOW before somebody takes a run at you.
