Survival “Stocking Stuffers” For Before And After The Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Last year at this time, I sent out an email of my favorite tactical and survival “stocking stuffers.”

People loved them so much that I had to do it again this year – and I know a lot of us are still trying to get our shopping done!

After all, nothing says Happy Holidays like the gift of survival.

And because I prefer shopping online to cramming myself into the malls this time of year (are people even shopping in person anymore?), the “stocking stuffers” and other gifts I’ve compiled are all linked right here.

(And, hey, have you looked at the calendar? There’s not much time to shop left!)

Here are ten great gifts that you can get right at the links below… plus one “bonus item” I had to share with you.

Top 10 “Survival Stocking Stuffers” For Preppers, Survivalists, And Family Members (Or Anybody!)

Top 10 Survival Stocking Stuffers For Preppers, Survivalists, Family, And Anybody

Tough Tesla Lighter

I’ve recommended electric, windproof lighters before. One of the reasons I like this “Tough Tesla” model, though, is that it’s ruggedized.

If you’re tough on your gear and you like the idea of an electric lighter that’s armored for durability, then look no farther than this one.

USB Rechargeable AA Batteries

These USB rechargeable batteries are one of the best survival items to come along in a long time. Everybody needs AA batteries in an emergency, particularly a blackout, and keeping track of rechargeable cells is a pain. These plug directly into any USB port, so you can charge them from any computer!

TACT Bivvy

I LOVE the TACT Bivvy. You don’t need to carry a huge sleeping bag that takes up a ton of room when you’re bugging out. All you need is this incredibly compact little survival sleeping bag, which will keep you warm and dry.

Pocket Stove

These little compact solid-fuel stoves are a great way to heat up a small container of water (or your meal while you’re packing/camping). They take up almost no room and you can store the fuel right inside.

QuickHeat Electric Hand Warmer

For a lot of us, it’s cooooold out there. You can only insulate so much before you start to feel the chill creeping in. One way to fight that is with technology. This electric hand warmer is a portable personal heater in your pocket. It makes a huge difference!

QuadraPro Solar Charger

Ordinary solar charges don’t have enough “oomph” to get the job done. This charger, though, has multiple panels and can even mount magnetically to your vehicle (or hang from your bag to charge while you’re bugging out).

Luci Air Lantern

This inflatable lantern makes a great emergency light… because it collapses to pack flat, and it’s waterproof! It has multiple modes, too, and is completely powered by solar energy. Just charge it up, and then when you need it, inflate it and let it light your way!

Pen Knife

This hidden blade is so effective that it’s illegal in those places that have laws against covert weapons. This is pretty simple: It’s a razor-sharp blade hidden in the body of a pen that actually writes.

Survival Neck Knife

I’ve recommended this survival neck knife from Survival Frog before. I like it a lot. It’s well made, it’s a great size, and the blade shape is strong.

Use it for survival, general utility, or even – in a pinch – self-defense. The little knife can do it all, and in a very easily concealed package.

“Unlimited Access” Lock Pick Set

Normally, picking locks isn’t the “good guy” thing to do… but during escape and evasion, you may need “instant access” to areas behind locked barriers.

That’s 10 things… but there’s one more I wanted to be sure to share with you:

Bonus – Urban Survival Cards

My buddy Ox offers these Urban Survival Playing Cards. They’re not just a way to pass the time (it’s a legit card deck). They’re also full of handy survival information. A great item to slip into a Christmas stocking.

I really hope you’re enjoying the holiday season.

Have fun shopping… and try not to overdo it with the eggnog, okay?

3 Urban Survival Myths (And The Truth About How To Survive In A Collapse!)

The going thinking seems to be that the ONLY way to survive is to flee the city. You’re supposed to run, like a dog with its tail between its legs, and hide out in the woods until things get back to normal. This is really dated thinking that ignores history. To get to the bottom of this, we’ve got to dispel some of the myths about urban survival in a collapse.

Home Defense Carbine Rifle: To Sling, Or Not To Sling?

I was at the outdoor range the other day and I saw a lot of guys rocking single point slings for their assault rifles. A sling helps us to feel all “operator” and can be of benefit in certain scenarios. But would it shock you if I told you… you don’t always need it?
