This isn’t meant to start an argument…
But with as much reliance as many have with using firearms for protection during a disaster or “collapse” scenario…
…what if your guns were taken away from you!
It’s happened before.
During Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, authorities went door-to-door confiscating weapons to “maintain law and order”.
Now, without getting into your “rights”, if your gut tells you that you’re going to fight off a squad of rifle-toting National Guardsmen, let me be the first to tell you… you’ll lose that fight.
You Can’t Protect Your Family From The Slammer Because You Claimed “Pry It From My Cold, Dead Fingers!”, So…
Here Are 5 Sneaky Ways To Hide Your Guns During A “Martial Law” Scenario…

1. Hide High
Ninjas would literally perch themselves directly above a door and were never seen because, when you think about it, we’re all focused on our “horizontal surroundings”, but no one ever thinks to LOOK UP!

Secure a magnetic gun holder inside a closet (like your coat closet near the front door) just above the door frame or behind a curtain near your front door.
Attach your handgun to the magnetic holder and most likely no one will ever even think to look there.
Searchers aren’t likely to expend the time or effort to do a thorough search, especially if you follow these other tips…
2. Own A “Decoy” Gun
Buy a piece of $#%& firearm for as little money as possible.
This can be used as a “decoy” gun that can be given up willingly during a martial law confiscation.
Law enforcement and military may have a registry of firearm owners in your area anyway and lying to them will only draw unnecessary attention.
However, you don’t want to seem too eager to give up Ol’ Betsy, so…
3. Comply (And Complain!)
When handing your decoy over to the authorities at your door, turn the tables on them by angrily interrogating the person in charge.
“Why are you taking my ONLY gun? How am I going to protect myself now that I’m UNARMED? It’s the only gun I have! WHEN am I gonna get it back?”
These types of questions act as a “Jedi mind-trick” to hypnotize the searchers that this really is the only weapon you have.
Plus, no one likes a complainer, right?
As long as they think you’re complying with their order, they may not feel a need to search for other weapons and will move on to another home that isn’t inhabited by a “whiner” like you.
4. Report It “Stolen”
During periods of civil breakdown and looting, it’s not uncommon for someone to be… um… “relieved of” their possessions.
If things are looking dark, you might report a treasured weapon “stolen” to get it off your books.
Now, a word of caution here…
Please note that this is totally “illegal” – and I’m only even mentioning this for times where the S has REALLY HTF!
There’s a better legal way to do it though…
5. Build a “Ghost Gun”
You may have already heard about this option (because the gun-grabber politicians are constantly trying to kill this loophole…)
You see, it’s possible to actually build your own AR-15 that doesn’t need to be registered.
The only part you really need to “build” is the lower receiver and while it can seem complicated, it’s really not as hard as you may think.
But the payoff in knowing that you 100% have a “secret firearm” that absolutely no one will know about is a real confidence-builder in knowing that you’ll always have a gun they can’t take!
(Note: Building your own AR-15 or other firearm is obviously too detailed to go into here. But if this is something you’re interested in, here’s a step-by-step video series that shows you how to do it…)
Ok, these are just a few tips to help you get your game-plan together NOW for preparing for a possible “collapse” scenario in which there’s a partial (or total!) meltdown in civil order.
Having a battle plan for dealing with riots… looters… and even military and law enforcement during social chaos is one of the most critical elements of survival.
Just as important as stocking up on food and water!
Know how to deal with the violence that accompanies a disaster or crisis… and NEVER be unarmed!

I built a ghost Glock thinking nobody knows I have it, then the ATF raided the factory that makes the 80% frames. I’m sure they took away a list of customers during their raid so my ghost gun is no longer a ghost gun.
What Guns ? “I” sold all mine. Good luck with Confiscation. I am in Tenn. Even Try that “Here” and you will Open the “Gates of Hell”. It will Not Go Well. And likely get some good people killed. A Good “Hide” – I did this once for several months – Home Depot buy 10ft of 12in PVC Pipe, 2ea Cap Fittings, at least 1 Cap with screw-top. Put guns and ammo in sealable HD plastic bags-you can get big ones-long enough for long guns – forgot where. Put Bags w/guns inside 12in pipe. Bury out back or just cover up with leaves, in a Hole or under a dead log, or in a pond.
why not buy it off the books from some guy who is leaving the country
Yup…really anyone who’s selling “off the books”. Estate sales are possible options as well since someone may pass away and those left behind may be looking to sell off any firearms that were owned on the side. (Remember… I’m not a lawyer and this isn’t legal advice! hahahaha)
inside a tree
If we have a good idea for hiding them why post it here? Makes no difference, lost all of mine in a boating accident
Oh NO. Same here! My sympathies.
Love your ideas
I have refurnished and adapted two pieces of my furniture of drawers in my home with false bottoms. During the past few weeks – many “reels” on Face Book have shown cabinetry with fake backs. Most of these methods of concealment which baffle any unlawful searchers.
The government people also scour the internet and read articles like this one about hiding guns etc. from them too. They know the hiding places in a house, storage shed and other places that are discussed and advertised for sell. Use this information to think outside the box to hide your items different in places. Just my thoughts.
Wrap in trash bags and bury
Defender’s comment will be a better option for caching any firearms. I’m a big fan of caching. Big, small, purpose-driven. We have a program on it but unfortunately, it’s not “public” except for WRC members… but we’re looking to release it next year some time.
For my wind and solar power system, I have a status monitor on a wall in my bedroom. Behind that set of monitors, I have a fake area for one of my guns and ammo. It is not hinged, so you cannot see the opening. Out in the garage with all of my batteries and inverter for the system, I have another such area. I keep one “pos” gun in my bedroom drawer. Some are also from my time in the military, plus I also have that equipment, plus the weapons my father left me when he died.
My father used to load his shells, but in another location.
They can come for some, but they are not going to get all of them.
So, what about the long bows and crossbows? Are they going to try to take them too? Good luck with that. [And, yes, I make my tips, arrows, and bolts.
I started “Prepping” as a teenager, before it was commonly called prepping. lol
