Every day, elements on all sides of the media – liberal, conservative, and everything in between – use TRICKS to fool you into seeing only what they want you to see.

3 Ways To Spot Media Manipulation Tactics
As the old saying goes, “garbage in, garbage out.”
If they can control the “news” that gets fed to you, they can control what you think about it.
Here are 3 ways ALL our major news media manipulate the people watching, listening, and reading them:
1. Lying with Headlines
This one is more subtle than you might think.
Our media know that you won’t read past the headline, in a lot of cases.
So they’ll create a headline that contradicts the actual article, and “bury” the truth in the article itself.
For example, the headline might say, “Steve Politician Denies Allegations He Conspired With Moldavia”.
The actual article might explain that an investigation found no proof of the allegations… but the headline creates the appearance of guilt.
That way, the “news” creates the impression the manipulators want, but they don’t say anything that isn’t actually true, so they can’t be sued.
2. Lying With Statistics And Footnotes
Here’s another one that you see in political books a lot of the time.
The author will make a statement that might say, “Studies have proven that people in Political Party X are lunatics who eat puppies (4)”.
That little number takes you to a footnote or an endnote that you just assume proves that the studies say this.
The author is counting on the fact that you’ll never look up the reference.
And if you DO look up the reference, there’s a good chance the study doesn’t actually “prove” anything of the kind – but the author can claim this is his interpretation of the study, so it’s not libel!
3. Just Plain Lying
Then there are those media outlets that just plain manufacture stuff.
For example, a few years back a major news outlet rigged a pickup truck to explode so they could “prove” the truck was unsafe.
The whole thing was a total hoax.
It wasn’t misinterpreted… it wasn’t just “distorted”… it was completely, totally made up.
Which means if the media can’t lie to you by tricking you, they’ll just lie right to your face, and hope they don’t get caught.
And what they’re counting on is that the people pulling the strings, the people behind all this manipulation, will protect them from the fallout.
What all this means is that you can’t trust a WORD of what you see in the media about what’s going on in our country and in our government.
So how can you know when you’re being manipulated… and how can you see “behind the curtain” to the people doing that manipulating.
