Wing Chun punches are actually delivered in straight lines, not in a circular fashion. Just as the pistons in an engine travel in straight lines through the cyllinders as the crank shaft rotates, Wing Chun punches travel straight forward and straight back. Try punching a heavy bag in the manner described and see how your fists look like they’ve been draged over a cheeese grater; straight forward through the target, straight back to the starting position.
